IT WAS AN HOMAGE. Like, the set is almost exactly identical to the set they used for the Judy special, the dialogue is a direct pastiche, etc. I was so happy.
Chris and Lea were absolutely made for that kind of parody, and it was so obvious they were having a huge blast doing it, which made it even more fun to watch. I actually really loved "Let It Snow"! Usually, I don't like the way their voices sound together on duets ("Candles" is one of the worst travesties this show's ever put out, tbh) but I thought they harmonized well on this one.
Rory and Sam's friendship is just adorable, and I really do hope we get more of them together.
I think I wouldn't have been as bothered by either of the Finn gifts if they hadn't come after multiple episodes of him being a giant asshole, tbh - so, to be fair, I'm pretty quick to rage at just about everything he does. On a comedic level, him giving Rachel the gift of a sow is hilariously off-note, and I did laugh, but really, after all this time, he can't figure out a present more suited to her than that? And Rachel was being pretty terrible to him, too - I just can't stand them together, and all their scenes this ep reminded me of that.
